The science of strength

**Note: If you’re looking for the most updated, current information on the science of strength, consider taking Jenni’s other, more recent course, The Science of Strength 2.0 instead!

This course here is Jenni’s original Science of Strength course. It still contains lots of great information, but the newer course is more up-to-date. Just FYI!

This 2-part course presents a thorough dive into the foundations of strength training science in digestible, accessible terms for yogis. This information is rarely, if ever, covered in yoga teacher training programs, yet yoga teachers benefit significantly when they have a working understanding of this foundational knowledge about how the body works.

After taking this course, you will understand how strength adaptations happen in the body, the multiple factors that influence strength, best practices for effective strength training, the benefits of strength for our health and well-being (strength is about so much more than aesthetics!), and the ways in which a strength training practice aligns perfectly with the goals of a yoga practice.

The content of this course is based in large part on a 6-month mentorship that Jenni completed with Chris Beardsley, the highly respected director of Strength & Conditioning Research and an expert on the science of strength training.

Note the optional quizzes that you are welcome to take for certification that you have completed and comprehended this course.

As with all of Jenni’s workshops, this course counts for continuing education hours for Yoga Alliance-registered yoga teachers.
